Premise

An unnaturally strong blizzard blows in as a group of amateur Trainers from the local Trainer Academy is en route to Woolwich Springs, a former hot spring resort in the Kinfold Pike mountains north of Circhester, for a week of wilderness survival practice. Now trapped up on the mountain by the fierce storm, the Trainers must manage their time and resources well, helping with problems at the resort while pursuing the mystery of the supernatural blizzard—and stopping it, if they can!

This adventure is intended for use as a small sandbox with a main quest for players to pursue but many side quests as well which make the player characters’ lives substantially easier by providing more resources or enabling further exploration. The adventure is built with a party of four players in mind, but there is advice in the “Tips for Running” section for smaller parties. It will take an average party at least 3 gaming sessions to complete this module if they latch onto the main plot threads early and do only the minimum necessary to resolve them. A party that is exploring side quests as well can expect to take 5 or 6 sessions to complete this adventure. Guidance will be provided at the end of this document for shortening the adventure to a one-shot by either altering the main quest or refocusing the adventure around one of the side quests.
